  • 20 June, 2006. New Orleans, Louisiana. Funeral for police Captain Octavio 'Ox' Gonzalez, a St John the Baptist Parish Deputy Sheriff at St Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Metairie. Hundreds of police officers turned out to remember their fallen comrade who was well loved and well known to fellow officers in and around the region. Captain Gonzalez, was ambushed by criminal John Lee Cheek (31 yrs) of Houston and his girlfriend Crystal Lynn Reed (27 yrs) late night on Friday 16th June, shot 3 times in the back. Part of the increasing crime wave in New Orleans.

  • Feb 28th, 2006. New Orleans, Louisiana. Mardi Gras Day, Fat Tuesday, Bourbon Street. The party is over. Hundreds of NOPD officers traditionally pass along Bourbon Street backed up by mounted units. The crowds of revelers mostly cheered the officers from NOPD, shaking their hands where possible as they officially announced the end of Mardi Gras and the commencement of Ash Wednesday and Lent.
