• March 6th,2006. New Orleans, Louisiana. Six months after hurricane Katrina devasted the Lower 9th Ward, recovery work, slow and sometimes grim, continues at what appears to be a snail's pace. Volunteers from the 'Common Ground' charitable organisation work tirelessly to gut and prepare sound houses for renovation. A man using a mild bleach solution power washes mould from the stripped interior of a home.

Front porch and steps undergoing repair work on a Make it Right home on Tennessee St in the Lower 9th Ward. Brad Pitt's Make it Right Foundation has been repairing numerous houses where sub standard materials were used in the construction of many of its dream homes. Make it Right is indeed making it right by repairing these houses at no cost to the home owners. Sub standard materials used during construction are blamed on suppliers for the numerous repairs already undertaken and for those houses yet to be repaired.
Katrina 8 years later. In a tale of two cities, the hardest hit neighbourhoods struggle to revitalize and return. Contractors working for Brimmer Construction Services begin the extensive process of rebuilding a formerly derelict house. Many half finished or blighted properties and vacant overgrown lots remain dotted throughout the landscape. Residents who have returned complain of limited services, infrequent police patrols, high crime rates, rampant mosquitos and uncontrolled vermin.
