Bicentennial reenactment of the Battle of New Orleans in Chalmette.
American troops reenact the January 8th, 1815 battle against British foes marking the 200th anniversary of the Battle of New Orleans in Chalmette. Despite being heavily outnumbering by the British, the Americans emerged victorious with a mere 70 casualties compared to over 2,000 British casualties, with many senior officers amongst the dead and injured. The American victory was hailed as miracle.
