March 8th, 2006. New Orleans, Louisiana. Six months after hurricane Katrina devasted the Lower 9th Ward, recovery work begins with the clearing of roads and debris by private contractors. And still, six months after hurricane Katrina, many roads remain blocked by houses and their contents spilled into the roads where they came to rest as the water swept through.
A clock lies amidst the rubble of someone's former living room on North Tonti Street. The clock, stopped at ten minutes to ten on the morning hurricane Katrina smashed the house from its foundations moving it halfway into the street.
