31st August, 2005. 'Hell on earth.' The Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana where over 20,000 refugees from hurricane Katrina are crammed into hellish conditions. Soldiers, children, mothers, fathers, grandparents, young and old trapped out in the baking heat awaiting busses.
The makeshift field hospital at the New Orleans Arena, now the Smoothie king Center. Tourists rescued by the National Guard. People rescued in trucks. Mayor Ray Nagin. Exhaustion. First bus evacuation.
