5 imagesThe Mimosa Dancing Club in New Orleans East. It is alleged that the club filed a claim for compensation from the BP Gulf Settlement Program. David Odom, CEO and and Kirk Fischer, COO of the Gulf Settlement program recently resigned after allegations the two were involved in improper conduct. Program head Patrick Juneau refused to comment on BP’s allegation that the resignations follow reports that the men entertained subordinates at a strip club that got $550,000 in oil spill claims. The allegation is online in an ad BP says will run Monday (12/23/13) in three major newspapers. N.B. There is no confirmation that the Mimosa Dancing Club and officials from the BP Gulf Settlement program have any connection.

Arabian was cradling a 1 yr old cousin whilst sat on the couch at home when gunmen pulled up outside and sprayed the house with bullets. Arabian was hit in the head and died shortly afterwards. The predominantly white upper middle class neighborhood of Braithwaite Park, established in 1936 remains eerie and abandoned as residents failed to return following the flooding and subsequent chemical spill from nearby Stolthaven chemical storage facility. Insurance companies have often refused to pay residents the full value on their policies and many are now in litigation. Many houses once valued at well over $250,000 are rapidly falling into disrepair and blight. Properties are as abandoned as former residents feel, complaining that Plaquemines Parish, the State and Federal government has done little to nothing to help them fight for their rights.
