Aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, New Orleans, Louisiana. national guardsmen encounter hundreds of refugees from the lower 9th ward awaiting transportation to the refugee camp that is the Superdome. The thousands of people gathered on the only high ground they could find at the St Claud avenue bridge.
