With crime beginning to pick up as people return to the city following the destruction of Hurricane Katrina, 300 Louisiana National Guardsmen returned to New Orleans to supplement local police and provide increased cover and back up in parts of the city that remain derelict and thinly populated since the devastating floods. A foolish 17 year old woman from 'Common Ground,' a local volunteer organisation not known for its love of authority has her ID checked by MP's after squirting an officer with a water pistol as the patrol passed. Technically she could have been charged with assault of a law enforcement officer, however the MP's instead chose to give her a stern warning.
