Mildred Bennett (89 yrs) was honored by First Lady, Mrs Laura Bush in her keynote speech at the Conference on New Orleans Cultural Rebirth at Tulane University. Mrs Bennett's home in the 9th Ward was seriously damaged by Hurricane Katrina. With help from volunteers and various organisations, Mrs Bennett will soon be able to move back into her home.
