March 6th,2006. New Orleans, Louisiana. Six months after hurricane Katrina devasted the Lower 9th Ward, recovery work, slow and sometimes grim, continues at what appears to be a snail's pace. Piles of rubble and demolished cars remain in the wreckage. An optimistic piece of graffiti covers the rear of a demolished garage - 'NOLA Lives' (New Orleans Louisiana Lives) reads the optimistic sign in the midst of devastation.
