March 6th,2006. New Orleans, Louisiana. Six months after hurricane Katrina devasted the Lower 9th Ward, recovery work, slow and sometimes grim, continues at what appears to be a snail's pace. The makings of San Francisco artist John Paul Marcelo's painting of the grim landscape of upturned cars and destroyed houses as he steps away from the canvas.
